Didn’t Al Gore fix global warming during his eight years in the Oval Office?

Real change is never instigated from within. Elected officials are beholden to the corporate money that gets them into office, so they’re pretty much left to squirm in straight jackets.
I went to a talk on democracy recently, and one of the speakers was discussing his soon to be published research that major legislative overhauls in the last 20 years, globally, occur after scandals. Major scandal makes change possible; otherwise it’s just business as usual.
